Shooting Stars and Black Holes

This work traces an exchange between destruction and creation, between force and fragility. A large paper backdrop, alternately backlit and frontlit, records the impact of air rifle pellets as they pierce the surface, transforming acts of incessant shooting into constellations of light and shadow. Each shot registers as both mark and void, simultaneously opening and closing space.

The dual projection reflects this inversion: one side illuminated, the other its negative. Together they form a mirrored system of presence and absence, expansion and collapse. The gesture is deliberate yet unpredictable, guided by tempo and restraint. Within this process, fragility becomes a measure of strength, the paper absorbing and transmitting impact, holding tension between wounding and renewal, between the fleeting and the infinite.
